This spring has seen the development of many new partnerships for the Centre including with Salford Foodbank. A new project, LAMPS (Learning About Money Problem Solutions) has been devised to support Foodbank clients facing money problems. Salford Foodbank acts as a crisis service to support those most vulnerable across Salford to access food parcels.

Salford Foodbank are now working with multiple partners including St. Antony’s Centre to further support those living in Salford. Project Workers will work alongside volunteers across distribution centres providing immediate support to those collecting food parcels. This support includes help with:

  • Benefits
  • Housing
  • Essential Items
  • Debts

Project Worker, Anna is currently supporting the volunteer teams at Loaves and Fishes and Mustard Tree providing advice and guidance to anybody accessing the Foodbank.

As we have seen in the media, the cost-of-living crisis is continuing to affect more and more people and we have seen first-hand how this is affecting some of the most vulnerable people living and working in Salford. This opportunity to work with Salford Foodbank and partners ensures St. Antony’s Centre can continue to help and support people facing these key issues, helping local people in crisis.
