Education and Training

St Antony's Centre has celebrated much success in providing education and training opportunities (with or without accreditation) to a wide range of people, both employed and unemployed, including in the heart of local communities.

Training Opportunities

The Centre offers accredited and unaccredited education and training programmes in English, Mathematics and Information Technology (IT).  We deliver courses at our centre in Trafford Park, in community settings, in company offices and other locations by arrangement with clients.  For IT courses, all we need are suitable facilities to set up laptops and access to the client organisation's WIFI to enable learners to access our dedicated remote training server.

Unaccredited Training

We are offer one-day unnacredited training in IT applications, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office including Word Processing (Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), Presentation Software (Powerpoint) and Database Software (Access).  We are can also offer courses in basic Video Editing (Movie Maker) and basic Audio Editing (Audacity).

Training for Schools

We are currently developing our education support and training offer for schools.  This will include IT courses aimed at developing the IT skills of school administration staff, supporting IT Curriculum leaders and teachers in various elements of the National Curriculum for Computing (particularly Computer Systems and Programming) and Mathematics and English workshops for parents, aimed at helping them to support their children's learning in these subjects in different primary-aged year groups.  We will publish our schools offer on the website as soon as possible but in the meantime, if you represent a school and want to get in touch about any of the above programmes, please do get in touch with the Training Manager to arrange a telephone call or online meeting to discuss your needs.  Our Training Manager is a former primary school teacher and headteacher and is very knowledeable about the needs of schools and the solutions that they may be looking for.
