Exhibition Features

Working in partnership with the Kellogg's factory, we have a created a unique exhibition presenting a nostalgic journey through the story of the legendary factory, its people, its products and its milestones.   Through a number of displays, the exhibition tells the story and timeline of the Kellogg's company (from 1906) and the Trafford Park factory from 1938, including:

• the 'accidental invention' of the 'corn flake'

• the initial partnership of brothers Dr John Harvey and Will Keith (WK) Kellogg, both of whom had different ideas about the future use and marketing potential of flaked grains and cereals

• the founding of the Kellogg Company at Battle Creek, Michigan

• the search for a British Home and the coming of Kellogg's to Trafford Park, a perfect fit

• the building and opening of the factory in 1938

• feeding Britain at War

• cornerstone cereals, branding, slogans and logos

• generations of workers

• production and other milestones, including VIP visits

Artefacts include:

• a range of Kellogg's merchandise

• examples of packaging

• recipe cards

• models of machinery

• commemorative milestone, anniversary and achievement items, e.g. plaques, tankards
