Please book in advance if you wish to join this before the meeting - there is no charge but we will need to know numbers. Bring your ideas and creative brains.
This is an important event with short workshops. I encourage our supporters and those interested in our unique Industrial Heritage and the wider history in our communities across Trafford to join us. Event : Heritage Open Day
Location : Trafford Park Heritage Centre, M17 1JF
The Centre will be open on Sunday 21st and Saturday 27th September 2025 as part of the national Heritage Open Days events.  You will be able to view a number of exhibits about Trafford Park and the historic Church of St. Antony's.  For example, we have recently discovered a set of photographs which show the Trafford Park Youth Club Awards in the 1960s and the Trafford Park Gala Day and St. Antony's Church events.  We also have a small exhibition celebrating the life and work of Beryl May Dent (1900 - 1977) who was a mathematician, engineer and early digital computer pioneer working at Metropolitan-Vickers between 1930 and 1960.  A blue plaque in her honour was very recently unveiled at the St. Antony's Centre.  Videos of the area will be playing throughout the day.
On these days we will be organising opportunities to visit the historic Tin Tabernacle Church of St. Antony’s opened in 1901. Short conducted church visits will be held at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. The visits will also include the War Memorial, adjoining garden and the new Blue Plaque dedicated to Beryl May Dent which as recently unveiled.

Refreshments will be available for purchase during the day.

MODEL T FORDS AT THE HERITAGE CENTRE
On Monday 5th May (Public Holiday), a number of Ford Model T vehicles will be involved in one of their driving tours and will call past the Heritage Centre.  Whilst the actual time that the vehicles will arrive is not clear, there will definitely be one vehicle on site from 11.00am  Other vehicles will arrive after this anytime up to 1.30pm.  This is subject to road traffic conditions.  As you can understand, many of the original Ford vehicles being driven are not the fastest, so will vary in terms of arrival times.  We are hoping that some will stay for a short period whilst they visit the Heritage Centre and grab some light refreshments.  The public are more than welcome to attend.
VE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Given the VE day celebrations on the 8th May, access to the War Memorial outside St Antony’s Church will also be available, as will the Metropolitan Vickers Memorials in the Centre itself.
HERITAGE SHOP
The Heritage Shop,  which features some of the Trafford Park road signs from the 1980s as well as other memorabilia and books are available.  We also have other Heritage books on-site including the Model T Ford history book.
FUNDING AND DONATIONS
It is a tough funding environment, so any support that we receive is most welcome.  Should you wish to make a donation to the work of the Centre or register as a Friend, direct payments can be made to the Charity via The Co-op Bank in the name of St Antony’s Centre, sort code 08 92 99, account number 65856370.  Gift Aid forms are available on our website, (Gift Aid Form) as this enables us to recover the tax paid from donations for those who are registered as tax payers.  This does not cost you anything addition but can add 25% to the value of any donations we receive.   Our website also includes details of other ways you can donate to the centre.  Thank you for your continued support.
