The Centre will be open on Sunday 21st and Saturday 27th September 2025 as part of the national Heritage Open Days events. You will be able to view a number of exhibits about Trafford Park and the historic Church of St. Antony's. For example, we have recently discovered a set of photographs which show the Trafford Park Youth Club Awards in the 1960s and the Trafford Park Gala Day and St. Antony's Church events. We also have a small exhibition celebrating the life and work of Beryl May Dent (1900 - 1977) who was a mathematician, engineer and early digital computer pioneer working at Metropolitan-Vickers between 1930 and 1960. A blue plaque in her honour was very recently unveiled at the St. Antony's Centre. Videos of the area will be playing throughout the day.
On these days we will be organising opportunities to visit the historic Tin Tabernacle Church of St. Antony’s opened in 1901. Short conducted church visits will be held at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. The visits will also include the War Memorial, adjoining garden and the new Blue Plaque dedicated to Beryl May Dent which as recently unveiled.
Refreshments will be available for purchase during the day.
