Guided Learning Hours: Unit: 36; Award: 120; Certificate: 135

Introduction
ITQ is a nationally recognised level 2 IT Users qualification that is flexible and allows learners to develop and learn IT skills that are most needed in the workplace. The qualification is set by employers to meet the standards required at work when using Microsoft Office IT applications. It allows learners to make use of and develop their existing IT skills and offers learners new opportunities for both the workplace and in education progression to higher level courses.

Course content
Learners work through sequential and progressive programmes to achieve units, award (3 units) or certificate (4 units).

The units offered are:
• Database software
• Desktop publishing software
• Presentation software
• Spreadsheet software
• Word processing software
• Improving productivity through IT

City & Guilds 7574 ITQ Level 2 (for IT Users)
Progression opportunities
Learners can progress to a Level 3 ITQ or other IT user courses.

Teaching and Assessment
A variety of methods and materials are used, with an emphasis on practical experience in workshop activities – all supported by manuals and materials specially prepared by the Centre. Individualised support and tutoring is a specific and key feature of our teaching delivery. Every learner is supported to ensure they achieve the maximum from studies and experiences with us.

This programme is a continually assessed as it progresses and each unit is individually assessed. End of unit assessments are taken when the learner has reached the required standard. The assessments are marked by the tutor, internally assessed by staff and externally moderated by City & Guilds.

Entry Requirements
Entry requirements require evidence of competence at level 1which will be assessed through diagnostic testing prior to start of course. This is to ensure we place the right applicant at the correct level for them to progress and achieve.
