World of Work
GEPO Conference in Portugal
The Centre specialises in serving people in the World of Work. As you can see from our website, this is completed in many ways. We offers a Training Department which helps to develop the skills of people in the workplace and we have also won contracts with the Learning & Skills Council to deliver specific programmes of training.
In 2009, the Centre has launched a Response to Redundancy Scheme, Training for Jobs in Lancashire. We opened the Accrington community Training Centre and this has been a very successful project. We have since opened further learning hubs in Oldham, Preston and Liverpool.
The Centre also links with our colleagues in Europe through GEPO. In April 2001, staff from St. Antony's Centre attended the 4 day European Conference held in Portugal.
