IT Distance Learning

We know it can be difficult to take time out from work or family commitments to update your current skills or gain new one.  That's why we've introduced a distance leaning option for some of our IT courses and units.  This means you can study flexibly, at your own pace, at a time and place to suit you.

Who is this course for?

The course is for those who have some IT abilities and want to further develop and enhance their skills and gain a practical qualification.  This is based on Microsoft software products which means it is applicable to most industry sectors and employment situations.  IT is one of the fundamental or 'basic skills' required in industry, community and society, so everyone should benefit from this training.

Units of Study

Dependent on individual nees and requirements, courses at level 1 and 2 contain the specific unit:

Qualifications

All units are City & Guilds ITQ units

Teaching, Learning and assessment

Progressive tasks, exercises and assessments are on-going throughout each unit, with work submitted at regular points.  At the end of each unit and assessment takes place and achievement is recorded.  Your tutor will assess your work and compile a portfolio of leaning evidence.  A certificate is awarded on satisfactory submissionof evidence of learning for the units studied.

Course length and time commitment

By committing 3 hours per week, a unit may be complete in under 3 months

Technical requirements

Hardware: Internet connected computer
Software:  Microsoft 2010 or 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Entry requirements

You should have basic IT skills.  An initial assessment of your current abilities will enable us to put together the correct programme.  You must be able to commit yourself to the necessary study time to achieve the qualification.

A range of fees apply dependent on course elve, number of units etc.
