The ACT Centre
The Accrington Community & Training Centre (ACT Centre) is a partnership project between St Antony's Centre, the GMB Union Learning Project and local community groups. The Centre's qualified tutors and support workers are on hand to offer FREE information, advice and guidance to anyone in Lancashire who is facing redundancy or who has recently been made redundant/unemployed.
The Centre has been working in partnership with St. Joseph's RC Church in Accrington who have established a Voluntary Project responding to the needs of the polish community who migrated to lancashire for employmnent. The Parasol Project will have facilities at the new Centre. The Diocese of Salford have provided funding for the Catholic Welfare Services support worker who will be working from the Accrington Centre.
Centre staff will assess your current skills and knowledge, help you choose the right options for you and provide information about courses and training providers to help you reach your goal.
GMB members will also gain access to the Union Learning Project, GMB ReachOut for additional support.
