Tyco Fire Products Re-launch Learning Resource Centre

On Thursday 24th February 2011, Tyco Fire Products manufacturing, Stockport, relauched the learning resource centre that they have on site.

The Learning Resource Centre is a partnership between Tyco, Community Union/communitas and St. Antony's Centre who will be the on site training provider.

The training facility will be open to any Tyco employee who wishes to improve their IT, literacy and numeracy skills and also gain nationally recognised qualifications.

During the initial open day, St. Antony's Centre staff and Tyco ULR's gave presentations regarding the courses that are on offer. There was a great interest from Tyco staff, particulalry in the ITQ qualification which covers software packages including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

43 Tyco employees regsited on the actual open day and a further 16 employees registered and interest for a literacy course.

Delivery of the courses has just began at Tyco- a big thank you goes out to everyone who has assisted in making this a success.
