Continuing the Good work in Tameside

Mon 10th Jan 2011

In September 2010, the team from St. Antony's Centre returned to Tameside council to deliver Skills for Life calsses. Having achieved great success in the past with council employees, we were delighted when 17 learners enrolled onto a Literacy course.

We have been working with learners with a mixture of ability with the aim of all learners achieving nationally recognised qualifications in both Literacy and Numeracy.

In November 2010, 10 learners achieved level 2 Literacy qualifications and have expressed a keen interest in commencing the Numeracy element of tthe course in the New Year. The remaining 5 learners took their exams before Christmas, prior to progressing onto the Numeracy qualifications.

So far the provision has been a great success with some excellent feedback from the learners involved. Many have commented on the helpfulness of St. Antony’s staff as well as the quality of the training provided. Learners also commented on how the course has improved both their skills and their work prospects.

Positive Feedback:
