Are you aged between 11 and 21? Are you serious about a future career on stage?

Join the UK's national music theatre company for young people and follow in the footsteps of West End theatre professionals. The Youth Music Theatre UK (YMT) are looking for the most talented, vibrant and original young actors, singers, dancers, instrumentaalists and technicians for our Summer 2012 productions.

YMT are looking for around 300 young performers and technicians for productions in 2012. 7 new musicals will be produced at venues acorss the UK next year. all being residential projects culminating in public performances in a professional theatre.

The next meeting of the Ashton & sale history society will be at 7:30pm on Wednesday 8th February 2012 at Sale Conservative Club, Dane Road, Sale. The guest speaker on the evening will be Peter Leeming who will present a talk on 'The Defence of Manchester in WW2'. Guests are always welcome.

For one day only, all the organisations on the Quays open thier doors for behind the scenes activities and special events for the whole family. Expereince a new exhibition about children's wartime stories at IWM north, get up close to the Chinese State circus at the Lowry, take a powerboat ride around the Quays, have a guided tour of the heritage sculpture trail, meet the tudors at Ordsall Hall. play interative games and walk with a dinosuar.

Come and experience Winton Park's new nature trail and look for wildlife in the park. The trail is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery fund. Meet the ranger at the totem poles.

Friday 24th & Saturday 25th March 2012

At Event City on 24th and 25th March, there will be an indoor classic car spectacular with some of Britain's top classic car clubs exhibiting some of their finest cars.

The event will host a number of general trade stands, cafe, bar, refreshments and entertainment.

the event will run from 9am until 4:30pm on both days and tickets are priced at £10 for adults, under 15's at £5 and under 10's are free.

Ordsall Hall: Faces and Places

Join us for a stroll around Ordsall looking at its history to mark the first birthday of Ordsall Hall's reopening.

Meet at 1pm at Ordsall Hall for a circular walk approx 1.5 miles

Walks must be booked in advance at slaford Tourist Information Centre on 0161 848 8601

£3.00 adults, £12 under 15

The route is on even ground but is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs.

Join Ordsall Hall in celebrating the 500th birthday of the Great Hall with games, competitions, raffles and prizes.

Take along your own treats at eat as a mass birthday tea will be taking place in honour of the great hall.

Throughout 2012

Throughout 2012, the Imperial War Museum North are offering free guided tours of the museum covering the themes, history and design of the Imperial War Museum North. The tour will provide suggested ways to tour the museum and its various exhibitions.

The tour is free and runs daily from 1:30pm. Please meet in the foyer.
