Chaplain's Welcome

Rev Martin Saunders

In 2009, Fr Martin Saunders became part time Chaplain to the Centre.

In 2018, Fr Martin celebrated with his Parish Community at St Dunstan's Church, Moston, his Silver Jubilee as a Parish Priest in the Diocese of Salford.  Throughout his ministry he has been most supportive of projects engaged in service to the community for which he has received praise and recognition.

Here are a few words of welcome from him.

We read in Sacred Scripture

"I have come to you that you may have life and have it to the full" [John 10:10]

The work of the Centre and its outreach puts into practice the Church's concern and support for all involved in the World of Work.  Keeping the focus on the Gospel message and how it speaks in today's world, the Centre's involvement in the working community develops in a practical way our understanding of Christian Social Thinking.

The Centre and those involved in its work are a real expression of our Christian values as we put them into action.  This project brings to life in a very concrete way Christ's message of Caritas or love for our fellow human beings.

It is a privilege to work with a team of people dedicated to the service of others.  People who are prepared to go that extra mile in helping and supporting those in need and to work in a positive way with other agencies and charities for the common good.

The partnership of Employers, Community groups, Agencies, Parishes and Chaplaincy Teams is vital to our mission that all "may have life and have it to the full".  Remembering that the Lord spent more time in the market place than in the temple, we pray that God may bless and guide this very special endeavour.
